The incidence of severe periodontal disease is nearly tripled in patients with poorly controlled diabetes, and poor glycemic control increases the incidence of periodontitis. Coordinated treatment of diabetes and periodontal disease is recommended to improve glycemic control and overall health.
After registering, you will be able to earn CDE/CE/CME by viewing online educational and informational materials to learn about the interrelationship between diabetes and oral health and develop practical screening strategies for your practice. You will also be able to interact with colleagues, exchange ideas, and participate in patient case discussions with colleagues from around the country on the dedicated Dental Discussion Board, monitored by Joslin clinical experts.
